St. Valentine’s Day

 Hi everyone!

Every year this time, i would have shared St. Valentine’s original story to my students. Since I am no longer do teachering as a professional this year I will share the original story with you. Probably you have also already know the story behind this lovely St. Valentin’s Day. This is the day of romance, expressing love, giving cute gifts and make tour lover happy however there is a sad story behind it.

There are several different stories about origin but today I will share with you the most popular one. So, let’s  have a look. It is started to call as St. Valentine at 14th century. Before that it was a Roman pagan festival which is called Lupercalia. When February comes bird tweets and people could hear the spring’s foot steps and they were celebrating coming of spring with a big festival. In this festival there was a matching ritual between young boys and girls. If they have matched and they were happy they would have got married. Then in Emperor Clauduis II time this festival has been stopped.  “Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. In the war time it was almost difficult to apart them from their wifes and homes. St. Valentine was the man who cares love and marriage and he felt this was unfair, so he broke the rules and arranged marriages in secret at church.

When Claudius found out, Valentine was thrown in jail and sentenced to death.

There, he fell in love with the jailer's daughter. They have started to write each other to get news. They were getting more and more in loved each other each day. However; Valentine was judging and he sentenced to death because of what he did. He was taken to be killed on 14 February he sent her a love the last letter signed "from your Valentine".” This line make the day we know and celebrate right now. Since then, respect and honor to St. Valentine’s love people start to call this day with his name.

Love is strong emotion. The respected one. If people happy with their lovers and show it do not interrupt them. It doesn’t have to be capitalist plan all the time. Leave people to celebrate their love with tiny heart shape and chocolates. History attributed this day to St. Valentin and I would like to attribute this lines to my lover. Thank you for being with me and give the idea about my writing, I love you, happy valentines day my heart ❤️
